CERTIFICATE Qualification to take NREMT exam to become State-certified EMT
LENGTH 3 Months (~20 hrs/week)

Prepares students to work as EMT based on King County standards and requirements. Learn the roles and responsibilities of the EMT, patient evaluation and all emergency procedures and maintenance of all equipment.
This is a required course for students hoping to join UWEMS, so students should start on this early to give themselves enough time to complete the course and take the NREMT exam. Remember to check the website of the courses you plan on taking for application deadlines! ​

A common EMT course students at UW is at NSCC; however, there are also many
other EMT courses around WA that also help certify! NSCC is also partnered with the
Medic One Foundation to provide students facing financial needs the opportunity to
participate through the Medic One Scholarships
